At Maxwell Farms we're aware that demands for reducing pesticide used in produce are growing and these demands need to be met without compromising the quality or the shelf-life of the product.

We're constantly reviewing our growing methods - we conduct trials every year to evaluate the effectiveness of the chemicals used in farming.  This year for example, we have successfully grown carrots in the conventional way but without the use of any nematicides; with no detrimental effects to either the quality of the carrots produced, or the quantity. This was based on the results of a successful trial we conducted in the previous year for our organic carrots. 

We're active members of SOPA (Scottish Organic Producers Association) who have strict auditing procedures for the organic industry in Scotland.
